What counts as a throwing stick?

Every plan comes with a monthly pool of throwing sticks — one throwing stick covers one text. A one-time reminder uses one throwing stick per recipient it's sent to. A recurring reminder uses a flat number of throwing sticks a month, based on how often it fires — not the exact count of sends in any particular billing cycle:

  • Daily — 30 throwing sticks/month.
  • Weekly — 5 throwing sticks/month.
  • Monthly — 1 throwing stick/month.
  • Everything else (once, weekdays, biweekly, quarterly, semiannual, annual, or a custom interval) — priced by how many times it actually needs to send that month, so an annual reminder mostly costs nothing and only uses a throwing stick during the stretch it's due.

Then multiply by recipients: a daily reminder sent to 3 people costs 3 × 30 = 90 throwing sticks a month, not 30.

Texting in to manage a reminder — or a recipient replying back — also uses a throwing stick each, flat, regardless of message length. The automated reply you get back never costs anything extra.

How many throwing sticks each plan includes — see the table in Plans & billing. In short: (Teams limits are actually set individually per business).
