Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the reminders app on my phone?
Phone reminders are notifications you have to notice and act on immediately, or they're gone. A text from textmetoo sits in your regular messages until you deal with it, the same place you already check all day.
Does the person I'm reminding need to install anything?
No. They just need a phone that can receive texts. There's nothing to download, no account to create, and no app to open.
What happens if I reply to a textmetoo message?
It depends on the message. Reply YES to confirm when someone adds you as a contact, STOP to end messages, or HELP for support. Free-form replies aren't read by the system yet.
Can I stop messages? Can they?
Yes, to both. Anyone receiving messages, including you, can reply STOP at any time, and it takes effect immediately.
Will this cost me carrier fees?
textmetoo doesn't add its own charges, but standard text messaging rates from your carrier still apply, the same as with any other text.
Do you support numbers outside the US?
Not yet. textmetoo works with US phone numbers only. International support is something we want to add, but we're not going to promise a date for it.
What do you do with my phone number?
We use it to send the messages you schedule. We don't sell, rent, or share phone numbers, and we don't use them for advertising.
When does textmetoo launch?
textmetoo is live. Join any time.
Will these texts land in spam?
No. textmetoo is a registered sender with the US carriers, so messages arrive in your normal text inbox like any other text. There's no separate app inbox and nothing to check.
What counts toward my monthly messages?
The reminders we send you, and any text you send us: to set something up, ask for help, or stop messages. Our replies back to you never cost anything extra.
What happens if I hit my monthly limit?
Reminders you've already set keep running. You just can't add new ones or increase how often they send until your next cycle, or until you move up a plan.
Can I set up reminders for a parent or family member?
Yes. Add them as a contact and we'll text them once, asking them to reply YES before they receive anything. Nothing sends until they confirm, and they can reply STOP at any time to end it.
Can I use this for my business or clients?
Yes, see textmetoo for business. The same STOP/consent rules that apply to personal contacts apply to client numbers too.
